We are grateful to the Community Foundation for Surrey and Elmbridge Philanthropy for their grant towards the purchase of 3 laptops for the CHEER staff.
Our staff have been working remotely during the pandemic and they are thrilled that the new laptops, along with the recent technology upgrade funded by Walton Charity, will give them more time to spend on supporting the elderly in Elmbridge.
We know from our conversations with older people that they have been among the hardest hit during the current pandemic. The lack of social interaction and the restrictions of lockdown have had a huge impact on their health and wellbeing. Many will need CHEER’s support to overcome increased loneliness and isolation and to regain the confidence to go out and meet other people. These grants will enable us to improve our productivity and efficiency so that we can provide our services to a greater number of people.
